Festival noise to be monitored
Noise experts in Leicestershire will be monitoring sound levels at this year's Donington Rock Festival to minimise disruption to residents.

A 24-hour helpline will be set up for people living nearby to call if they are experiencing problems with noise.

Around 100,000 people are expected at the two day festival in June.

The festival's application for a public entertainment licence will be discussed on Wednesday at the district council's Licensing Committee.

Last year North West Leicestershire District Council only received six complaints and is hoping this year's monitoring will keep disruption to a minimum.

Twenty thousand people are expected to camp in the area over the weekend to see bands such as Metallica and Linkin Park.
