Suspicious fire guts car garage
Police tape
Police are appealing for information
Police are investigating an arson attack on a garage in Melton Mowbray.

It is thought the fire at BCI Autocare was started between 0030 GMT and 0045 on Saturday.

No one was injured but the building and a number of vehicles were damaged. The repair bill is estimated at £20,000.

Officers are keen to trace a man seen nearby, described as aged in his early to mid 20s, about six feet tall and of slim build. He was wearing a blue baseball cap and tracksuit top.

They say they want to eliminate him from their enquiries.

Police are also viewing CCTV footage in the search for clues.

The owner of the garage, which is on Jubilee Street, has offered a large reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
