Bali bombing memorial unveiled
A memorial forest dedicated to the victims of the Bali nightclub bombing is being planted in Leicestershire.

Families and friends of the victims are planting 50 trees at Burroughs Wood near Ratby.

There will also be a stone unveiled on Saturday, which has been engraved with the names of the 28 British victims.

It is the only memorial to the British victims of the Bali bombings in Britain.

Living memorial

Tony Perkins, who lost his 20-year-old daughter and his 18-year-old niece in the attack feels it is a fitting memorial.

He said: "We have discussed it between all the members of the families and we wanted something that would be permanent.

"We felt that a living memorial would be very apt.

"The memorial is in Leicestershire as the families are from all over the country so we wanted somewhere central.

"We spoke to the Woodland Trust and they suggested this spot."
