Premiership joy for kit cleaner
Dilly Richards
Dilly Richards was paid for six months by the football team

The woman who washes Leicester City's football kit has been offered her job back after the club's promotion to the Premiership.

Dilly Richards was told there was no money to pay her when administrators took over the club and would have to leave.

But the manager Micky Adams and club players pooled cash to pay Mrs Richards and keep her on.

Now she has been offered a new contract to wash the club's kit when they play in the top division.

She said: "I'm very pleased they took me back on at the club.

"Obviously I would like to say a big thank you to the lads for paying my wages for the last six months and I wish them well in the Premiership.

"I hope they have a good season in there and well done Micky and all of the lads that played their part for the football team."

The promotion to the Premiership will give Leicester a larger slice of footballs' lucrative television deal and they will play in front of bigger crowds.

It could mean many more millions of pounds for the club that was saved from administration by a consortium led by former England player and television presenter Gary Lineker.
