Murder charges over brook death

Three men have been charged with the murder of a father-of-three found dead in a Lancashire brook.

The body of David Splatt, 35, was found floating in the water between Moor Nook and the Grange estate in Ribbleton, Preston, on Sunday.

Michael Casey, 19, of Fir Trees Avenue, David Carroll, 21, of Burholme Place, and Keith Peel, 26, of Burnslack Road, are accused of his murder.

They are due at Preston Magistrates' Court later.

A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Splatt, who was discovered by a man walking his dog, died from severe head injuries.
