Taxi driver killed in road crash

A 34-year-old taxi driver has been killed in a road accident in east Lancashire.

The man, from Nelson, was driving a car which crashed on the A682 Burnley Road at Crawshawbooth in the early hours.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident and no passengers were inside the taxi, Lancashire Police said.

The road, which is the main route between Burnley and Rawtenstall, was closed for initial investigations but has since reopened.
