Charge over guard shooting raid

Seven people are charged over the Blackburn robbery

A man has been charged over two robberies in Lancashire, including one in which a security guard was shot.

The man, 37, from Accrington, has been charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery and is due before Blackburn magistrates on 18 November.

They relate to a robbery at Morrisions in Thornton Cleveleys in August 2008 and a raid on a van in Blackburn last December in which a guard was injured.

Seven people have been charged with the Blackburn robbery.

Four of those are also charged in connection with the Thornton Cleveley raid.
