Wanted drug man hands himself in

A wanted man convicted of drug offences has handed himself into Lancashire Police.

Peter Prendergast, 27, walked into Skelmersdale police station and admitted breaking the terms of his license on Thursday afternoon.

He had been sentenced to three years in jail at Liverpool Crown Court in 2006 for possession of drugs with intent to supply.

A police spokeswoman said he had now been recalled back to prison.

She also appealed for information about a man wanted on prison recall.

We want these people bringing to justice and any details the public may have could be crucial

Gerrard Lundie, 20, was jailed in March for drugs supply offences and sentenced to 27 months in prison.

He had also since been released on license but broke the terms of that license and went on the run.

He is believed to be in the Liverpool area although he had previously lived in Skelmersdale.

Insp John Clucas said: "As always, I'd like to reassure the public that as a force we have a high success rate of returning people to prison and use all methods to catch these people.

"I would also ask the public to be vigilant and report any sightings to the police. We want these people bringing to justice and any details the public may have could be crucial."
