Woman killed in Porsche collision

A 55-year-old driver has been killed following a collision with another vehicle in Lancashire.

The incident happened at 1720 GMT when the woman's Rover 25 and a Porsche collided on the A584 in Freckleton.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said the woman, from Kirkham, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the Porsche suffered minor injuries and was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital where he was treated for shock.

The road was closed until 2130 GMT.
