Two charged over fatal house fire

Two men have been charged with murder over an arson attack in which a couple died and their children were badly injured at their home in Blackburn.

Abdullah Mohammed, 41, was killed in the fire in London Road on 21 October. His wife Ayesha, 39, died on Wednesday.

Their daughter, 14, is in a stable condition. Their son, nine, has now been released from hospital.

Peter Bowden, 39, from Lytham St Annes, and Imran Ali, 29, from Manchester will appear in court on Friday.

The pair are both charged with murder and arson with intent to endanger life.

Mr and Mrs Mohammed's daughter Siddiqah is being treated at the University Hospital of Manchester.

Nine-year-old Muhammad is staying with his extended family.

The couple's eldest son, Ashraf, was away at university at the time of the fire.
