Four people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a man was found badly burned on wasteland in Lancashire.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was discovered by a dog walker in Adlington, near Chorley just before 1000 BST.

The area has been cordoned off while crime scene investigators collect evidence.

A 26-year-old woman and three men, aged 34, 52 and 55, are being questioned.

Det Supt Graham Coulston Herrmann said: "A post-mortem examination will take place to establish the cause of death.

"We are appealing for anyone who was in the area on Thursday night - it is a popular spot for dog walkers - to contact police."
