A 22-year-old man has been charged with rape, sexual assault and possession of an offensive weapon after a homeless woman was attacked in Lancashire.

The 33-year-old victim was assaulted after she and her 29-year-old boyfriend were threatened by a man wielding a plank with a nail protruding out of it.

They had been camping off Stanley Street in Preston on Wednesday night.
