Two more teenagers have been arrested by police investigating the murder of a man in Lancashire.

Adam Rogers, 24, suffered serious head injuries during a sustained attack in Northgate, Blackburn, in the early hours of Sunday. He died in hospital.

His parents, Pat and Dave Rogers said they were "devastated".

A 16-year-old boy is being held on suspicion of his murder. Two men, aged 19, were arrested on suspicion of assault and affray on Monday.

The 19-year-olds, from Rishton, are being held in connection with events leading up to, and after, the murder of Mr Rogers, a Lancashire Police spokeswoman said.

Mr Rogers was attacked after he and a group of friends, who had been drinking in the Live Lounge bar, became involved in an altercation with a group of five people who had also been in the bar.

He was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital, where he died on Sunday afternoon.

Mr and Mrs Rogers said their son was a "loving, gentle, generous and attentive young man".

"Adam wasn't a club goer and only went out occasionally to town, preferring to visit friends at their homes," they said.

"This night out was special as he was aiming to see friends that he hadn't seen for sometime and I know he was really looking forward to it.

"He saw lots of good friends out that night who had missed him whilst he had been living out of the area."

Det Supt Neil Hunter, who is leading the investigation, has appealed for witnesses to contact police.

A post-mortem examination was being carried out on Monday afternoon.
