A senior police officer is personally visiting burglars at home to warn them about committing crime.

Supt Sarah Oldham, of Lancashire Police, has been hand delivering letters to those convicted or suspected of breaking into homes.

The letters warn offenders in the Pennine division that police are collecting information about offences that they may have been involved in.

Supt Oldham also urged residents to report any suspicious activity.

"Crime is low in Lancashire and we want it to stay that way, which is why we are keeping an extremely close eye on people we suspect may be involved in burglary offences," Supt Oldham said.
