A pigeon has chosen to raise its young brood in a fun ride at an amusement park in Lancashire.

The bird's nest was found inside the mouth of one of the monsters on the ghost train ride at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Staff only became aware of her precarious perch when a customer e-mailed the BBC's Springwatch team to tell them about the nesting place.

The park is seeking advice on how to look after the bird and its eggs.

Mark Thompson, deputy managing director of Blackpool Pleasure Beach, said: "We've had a few on Valhalla and the Big Ones rides but never positioned inside a moving piece of mechanism within the park."

The ride will remain operating, he added.
