A total of 60 reports of criminal damage to cars in one evening in a Lancashire town have now been made.
The paintwork of vehicles parked in Great Harwood, Blackburn, was marked, some with patterns and symbols and others with simple scratch marks.
Lancashire Police said about 45 acts of vandalism were initially reported, but police now have a further 15 reports.
The damage is estimated to run into several thousands pounds. Witnesses have been urged to contact police.
The vandalism started around Cliffe Lane, moving on to Westcliffe, Northcliffe, Edge End Lane, Edge End Road, then coming to an end in the area around James Street, Highfield Road and Shakespeare Avenue.
CCTV footage in the area is being examined by officers.
Insp Gary Crowe, of Lancashire police, said: "We are continuing to follow several leads in relation to these offences and I would like to re-assure the community that a huge amount of work is going on within neighbourhood policing teams and within CID to ensure that the people responsible are caught and brought to justice."
