Armed men threatened two female shop workers with a gun at a betting shop in Lancashire.

Police have released CCTV images of the men, who raided the Betfred bookmakers on Granton Walk, Ingol, on Friday.

Both the men were in their early 20s and spoke with Liverpool accents. One of them had a distinctive JD Sports bag across his back.

Officers believe the men were in the area for about 20 minutes before the raid, which took place at 2045 GMT.

They ran off towards Whitby Avenue and the John O'Gaunt pub afterwards.

Insp Ian Dawson from Preston CID said: "The CCTV stills recovered from inside the premises clearly show the description of one of the offenders with a plastic JD sports bag across his back.

"I would like to speak to anyone that recognises either of these individuals or remembers seeing them in the area.

"Specifically, I would ask anyone living in the Tanterton area that saw anyone wearing a dark jacket with a JD sports bag over their shoulder out in the area on Friday night to give us a call."

Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to contact police or Crimestoppers.
