Man in court over takeaway death

A 19-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a man who died after he was found injured outside a takeaway in Lancashire on New Year's Day.

Gerard Cavanagh, 31, was found by a passing police patrol outside La Luna in Lord Street, Fleetwood.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

Michael Twiss, of Broadway in Fleetwood, was charged with murder and was remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on 26 March.

A 17-year-old girl has been charged with a Section 47 Assault and has been bailed to appear at Wyre Magistrates' Court on 13 January.
