Second mill blaze for fire crews

Firefighters in Lancashire have been tackling a large mill fire, the second in two days.

Eight crews were called to the former Vernon Carus Mill in Hoddlesdon on Saturday night.

A three-storey section of the derelict property on Johnson New Road was destroyed. The site is currently being cleared for a housing development.

On Friday night Woodfold Mill on Trafalgar Street in Burnley collapsed after a serious fire.
