Two people were injured and a crew came under attack during a busy night of 460 calls for firefighters in Lancashire.
Crews were called out to tackle 143 out of control bonfires and were obstructed by youths at a number of sites.
In one incident at Skeffington Road in Preston a fire engine windscreen was shattered as it came under attack.
In Blackpool, a boy suffered burns from a thrown aerosol can and in Rishton a woman was taken to hospital after a firework was put in her letterbox.
The boy suffered burns to his arm from the can, while the woman was treated for shock and the effects of breathing in smoke.
Lancashire Fire Service said it was at its busiest with bonfire-related incidents in the Skelmersdale, Blackburn, Accrington, Preston and Burnley areas.
