Pedestrian dies after lorry crash

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a lorry in west Lancashire.

The 30-year-old man, from Chorley, was hit by the vehicle on Halsall Road in Halsall, near Ormskirk, on Wednesday morning, police said.

He was taken to hospital in Southport but died from his injuries a few hours later.

Lancashire Police are investigating the collision, which happened near Gregory's Garage at 0835 BST, and have appealed for witnesses.
