Student cyclist dies in bus crash

A 21-year-old student has died after her bike was in a crash with a double-decker bus in Preston.

The Chinese national, who was studying at the University of Central Lancashire, was killed on Fylde Road just after 1200 BST.

Police said she died from her injuries at the scene and the driver of the bus was offered counselling.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is being urged to contact Lancashire Police.

Officers said the road was closed until 1545 BST, while accident investigators were called to the scene.
