Eight charged after drugs raids

Eight people have been charged by police after a third day of raids targeting drug dealing in Lancashire.

Six men and a woman, who are all aged between 25 and 42, were arrested in raids at several addresses across Blackpool on Monday.

They have all been charged by police, along with an eighth person, a man who was produced from Preston Prison.

All eight are charged with supplying class A drugs, including heroin and cocaine, Lancashire Police said.

About 20 people have already been charged with 97 offences following similar raids last week.

The raids are part of Operation Nimrod, which is aimed at tackling drug crime in Lancashire.

About 50 Lancashire police officers from across the county, including support unit officers and dog patrols, were involved in the raids on Monday.
