Wife is charged with stabbing man

A woman has been charged with attempted murder after her husband was stabbed at a house in Lancashire.

Police were called to Ascot Road in Thornton Cleveleys on Thursday morning, and found an 80-year-old man had been stabbed in the chest and stomach.

Linda Wrigley, 56, of Ascot Road, was questioned and later charged.

Lancashire Police said she is due to appear at Wyre Magistrates' Court on Saturday. The 80-year-old man is in a comfortable condition in hospital.
