Sewer repair causes road closure

One of the main roads in Lancaster is closing for a week so that maintenance work can be carried out on a sewer in the city.

The A683 Caton Road will remain shut until Saturday while United Utilities repair a damaged pipe.

Both lanes of the dual carriageway are closed from the junction with Kingsway and Bulk Road for a 100m (328ft) stretch.

Local diversions will be in place for the week.
