The family of an 11-year-old boy who died after being hit by a car in Lancashire have paid tribute to their "loving, caring and happy child."
Calvin Leary, from Ashton, Preston, was knocked down on Blackpool Road at Lane Ends, Ashton, on Sunday morning.
He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Calvin's father, Pete Leary, said: "Calvin's family, friends and school friends are devastated by this tragic loss."
He added: "Calvin was a loving, caring and happy child who was in his final year at St Andrew's School in Ashton. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him."
His mother, Jacqui Pollock, said: "Calvin will be greatly missed by those who loved and knew him well. His cheeky smile, sense of humour and kindness will live in our hearts forever."
The driver of the car, a white Volkswagen, was not injured.
An investigation is underway and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
