Television boxes seized by police

Five homes and two industrial units were searched

About 200 digital boxes have been seized by police targeting a suspected illegal operation to modify them.

Five men and a woman were arrested in raids on five houses and two industrial units in Preston and Blackburn.

About 40 officers were involved in the operation with Virgin Media targeting suspected modification of television boxes to receive paid-for channels.

The six arrested under the Copyrights, Designs and Patents Act 1988 have been bailed by police.

Of the five houses raided by officers, two were on Livingstone Road, Blackburn, two on Assheton Road, Blackburn and one on Duchy Avenue, Preston.

The industrial units searched were in Hamilton Street and George Street West, Blackburn.
