Funds were raised to ship the furniture to Pakistan

School desks which were heading for a rubbish dump in Lancashire are now helping children on the other side of the world.
Two containers of furniture have been shipped out to the Gujarat district of Pakistan after Lancashire County Council bought new desks and chairs.
Residents in Burnley and Pendle, many of them who were born in Pakistan, helped raise funds to ship the items.
They are being used by children at the Juarah High school.
The school was visited by County Councillor Terry Burns and Mike Tull, head teacher of Marsden Heights Community College.
New schools are being built on nine sites in Burnley, which means new furniture has been purchased.
Mr Burns said: "This is the best form of recycling in the world.
"We've seen for ourselves just how underprivileged the children were and they were so delighted when we said we would try our best to get more stuff over."
