Medics injured in ambulance crash
Two paramedics required hospital treatment after their ambulance overturned following a car crash.

The emergency response vehicle was travelling back to its base in Skelmersdale when it collided with a car on Scarisbrick New Road, Southport.

The ambulance overturned, trapping the crew inside. They were cut free by the fire service and taken to hospital, one man with leg and back injuries.

The driver of the car ran away and police are trying to trace him.

There were no patients in the ambulance at the time of the crash.
