Just under 300 workers in Blackpool were made redundant in December
Workers made redundant by the closure of the Blackpool-based TVR sports car company are being offered help to find new employment at a special open day.

Blackpool Council is bringing together a range of organisations to give advice on jobs, re-training and benefits.

Just under 300 workers lost their jobs in December when administrators were called in.

The open day is being held on Monday at the Technology Management Centre on Faraday Way, Bispham.

Councillor Roy Fisher, Blackpool Council leader, said: "The open day will be a friendly and informal day aimed at assisting the hundreds of workers who have now been formally made redundant."
