Man charged over schoolboy rape

A 45-year-old man has been charged with raping a teenager in Lancashire seven years ago.

Souleman Vapiwala, who lives in Blackburn, was arrested on Friday by police investigating an attack on a 13-year-old boy in the town in 1999.

He appeared at Blackburn magistrates' court on Saturday morning and was formally charged.

Magistrates remanded him in custody to appear at a further hearing on 28 March, 2007.
