Heatwave spurs security warnings
Police in Lancashire are urging householders not to become complacent about security during the hot weather.

The warning follows revelations that 40% of burglaries committed across the force's Southern Division in the last month were due to insecure premises.

According to officers, as temperatures soar householders are failing to close and lock windows and doors.

But their actions may mean they are unable to claim any losses on their insurance policies.
