About £1.3m is to be spent improving leisure and sports centres in a central Lancashire town.
New sauna and steam rooms are among the facilities planned for Chorley's All Seasons Leisure Centre and the Clayton Green Sports Centre.
New fitness equipment will also be provided for the All Seasons centre.
The plans were unveiled after Chorley Borough Council signed a contract with Community Leisure Services to manage both centres on its behalf.
Councillor Cath Hoyle, leisure spokeswoman, said: "The demand for good quality, value-for-money fitness facilities is growing rapidly as people recognise the importance of health and fitness in their lives.
"We hope the improvement programme will allow all users to benefit by working towards a healthier lifestyle."
The contract does not include facilities at Coppull and Brinscall because the council said it was considering other ways of managing them.
