Concern over missing businessman
David Guilfoyle
Police say Mr Guilfoyle's disappearance is out of character
Police say they are becoming increasingly worried over a businessman who has been missing since the European Champions League final last Wednesday.

David Guilfoyle, 37, was last seen leaving the Grey Horse pub on Whalley Road, Accrington at 2230 BST.

Friends say the international pool player who lives in Royds Avenue, Accrington, left the pub in a jubilant mood and is a creature of habit.

Lancashire Police said on Tuesday they were stepping up the search.

Mr Guilfoyle had been watching the Liverpool v AC Milan match with friends.

Police say he had been driving his distinctive green convertible Jaguar XK8 sports car.

Det Insp Paul Withers said: "This is completely out of character for David. A number of his friends raised the alarm and called the police when they became concerned for him.

"His friends have indicated that they could not contact him, which they found unusual as he is very much a creature of habit."

Officers have searched his bungalow and are increasingly concerned for his welfare.
