Man charged with promenade rape
A 27-year old man has been charged with the rape of a 15-year old girl.

Police said the girl was allegedly picked up on the promenade in Blackpool last Tuesday and taken to an unknown address where she was attacked.

Awat Ahmed, an Iraqi national, will appear before Blackpool Magistrates Court on Monday morning charged with rape, officers said.

A further four men were also arrested but police said they have all been released without charge.

Police are continuing to question three Iraqi men in connection with the rape of a 15-year-old girl in Lancashire.

Police arrested four men and a youth, who are all Iraqis, on Wednesday.

Detectives were granted further time to question three of the men and the other man and the youth were bailed to report to Blackpool police at a later date.
