Attacker 'bit woman's tongue off'
The scene of one of the alleged attacks at Levens Road, Blackpool
Mr Humphris is alleged to have attacked a prostitute in Blackpool
A man bit off and chewed part of a prostitute's tongue during attacks on five women in one night, a court has been told.

Andrew Humphris, 36, of St Paul's Tower, Leyton, east London, acted like an animal, Preston Crown Court heard.

Mr Humphris denies charges of wounding, attempted kidnapping, sexual assault and committing an offence with intent to commit a sexual offence.

The attacks took place in Blackpool, Lancashire last year, the court heard.

'Rammed car'

Richard Haworth, prosecuting, said Mr Humphris became more violent during the night as he became increasingly frustrated.

He had visited a prostitute while on a trip to see his brother on 28 October and bit her tongue, Mr Haworth said at court on Tuesday.

Shortly after midnight, Mr Humphris harassed a woman, trying to separate her from her friends, and later carried out a violent sex attack on a woman in her own car, the jury was told.

After biting off part of the tongue of the fourth victim shortly before 3am he chased a fifth woman who was driving to work. He rammed her car and tried to force her to stop, said Mr Haworth.

He has pleaded guilty to one charge of dangerous driving.

The case continues.
