Sisters injured in taxi collision
Two sisters are in a serious condition in hospital after they were knocked down by a taxi in Lancashire.

Humera Waqar, who was celebrating her 12th birthday, and her sister Raibia, aged three, were hit on Blackburn Road, Accrington on Tuesday.

They were taken to Royal Manchester Children's Hospital in Pendlebury where they are described as "very poorly".

Sgt Peter Schulpher, of Accrington police's road traffic unit, said it was a "very serious accident".

Any witnesses are asked to contact Lancashire Police.
