A vendetta by racist thugs has forced a young family apart after a series of attacks on their home.

Renal nurse Sichit Simon and his partner Editda suffered attacks in Liverpool, forcing her to flee to her native Philippines with their son.

Merseyside Police said they are determined to catch those responsible for the abuse and attacks on the couple at their home in Middle Way, Croxteth.

Mr Simon, from India, said he fears for his life.

The couple, who met as nurses in Liverpool, have suffered four attacks culminating with a gang smashing every window in their car and trying to force their way into the family home.

Mr Simon said his partner and their four-month-old son have fled to the Philippines.

"She was too scared to stay here," he added.

"I realised it was not safe to keep them here."

Insp Mike Cloherty, the Neighbourhood Inspector for the area, said the family have suffered a terrible ordeal.

"There are people in the community who know who is responsible and the onus is on them to come forward," he said.
