The scene of the attack at Levens Road, Blackpool
Mr Humphris is charged over an attack at Levens Road, Blackpool
A man has appeared in court to deny a charge of biting off a woman's tongue.

Andrew Humphris, of Blundell Street, Blackpool, appeared at Preston Crown Court accused of unlawful and malicious wounding with intent to cause harm.

The charge followed an alleged attack on the woman in the early hours of 29 October in Blackpool.

Humphris, 36, was arrested in Ipswich, Suffolk, on the night of 29 October, following a national appeal for information about the attack.

He was remanded in custody on Thursday to appear again on 25 February for a pre-trial review.
