A security guard was held by a gang of robbers who stole televisions and computer screens worth about £500,000 from a industrial estate in Lancashire.
The guard was forced to open FDC holdings at Chorley when he was threatened by the three men while on duty on Saturday night.
They drove him around before dumping him in nearby Anderton at about 10pm.
The gang stole 250 Tiny plasma screens, ten Tiny computer systems and four 45-foot (13.7m) long trailers.
Det Insp Steve Ashurst, from Chorley CID, said: "The security guard was not physically hurt by the offenders but he was obviously very scared during his ordeal."
Police want to speak to anyone offered any of the equipment for sale, or who saw the security guard being left at Roscoe Low Brow in Anderton.
