A 38-year-old man suspected of having a sawn off shotgun in a pub was shot with police baton rounds on Friday.
Police sealed off The Laughing Donkey pub, containing more than 100 drinkers, on Blackpool's South Pier following reports a man had a gun in his coat.
A Lancashire police spokeswoman said a man was shot as he left the bar after armed police challenged him to stop.
The man, from Manchester who had minor injuries, has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm.
Police say four rounds were fired and the incident has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
A search is continuing at the pub for a weapon.
