Wife charged with husband's murder

The widow of a businessman who was found dead in his garage has appeared in court charged with his murder.

Kenneth Iddon's body was found at his home in Ormskirk, Lancashire, after he had been on a night out in February.

Lynda Iddon, 56, of Greetby Hill, Ormskirk, is charged with murder and conspiracy to murder.

She was remanded in custody by Chorley magistrates and is due at Preston Crown Court next Thursday. Five others are charged in connection with the murder.

Mrs Iddon's son, Lee Shergold, 31, of Woodlands Meadow, Chorley, Lancashire, is charged with murder and conspiracy to murder. He is due to appear at Manchester Crown Court in December.

John Climo, 33, of High Street, Prescot, Merseyside, and Christopher Pye, 33, of Longfellow Crescent, Kirkby, Merseyside, both also face charges of murder and conspiracy to murder.

Rodney Bishop, 38, of Orrell Park, Liverpool, is charged with murder.

Terri Davies, 22, also of Orrell Park, has been charged with perverting the course of justice.
