Stepson faces murder plot charge

A man has appeared in court accused of plotting to murder his stepfather.

Lee Shergold, 31, of Woodlands Meadow, Chorley, Lancashire, appeared before the town's magistrates charged with conspiracy to murder Kenneth Iddon.

The 57-year-old was found dead in the garage of his home in Ormskirk following a night out on 1 February.

Mr Shergold was remanded in custody until 21 October. Three other people have been charged in connection with Mr Iddon's death.

Christopher Pye, 33, of Kirkby, Merseyside, faces charges of murder and conspiracy to murder.

Rodney Bishop, 38, of Orrell Park, Liverpool, is also charged with murder.

Terri Davies, 22, also of Orrell Park, has been charged with perverting the course of justice.
