Cancer man's screening campaign
A Lancashire man who survived prostate cancer is calling for a national screening programme to be implemented. Ivor Moll, from Wrea Green, was diagnosed six years ago and is now running Preston Cancer Charity's awareness week in the county.

He was treated successfully and believes older men should be screened routinely for the cancer.

Mr Moll said the taking and analysing a sample for the test costs only £100 and is not expensive for the NHS.

"Quite honestly I don't think it is an awful lot for the National Health Service to take on," he said.

"What happens when you have a heart by-pass - £16,000?

"You could shorten your life for anything up to two years by being too late
