New store to create 190 jobs in Tunbridge Wells

John Lewis is to open a new "at home" shop in Tunbridge Wells later this year, creating about 190 new jobs.

The retailer said it planned to open its 50,000 sq ft shop during the autumn on Longfield Road in the town.

John Lewis will invest £9m in the store, which will focus exclusively on furniture, furnishing accessories, electrical and home technology.

Other John Lewis "at home" stores are scheduled to open in Croydon and Swindon later this year.
