Kent rail passengers affected by snow

Eurostar train at Ashford International
Passengers travelling on the Eurostar faced delays and cancellations

Rail passengers faced problems reaching their destinations in Kent following the latest snowfall.

Eurostar said passengers experienced delays on some services, and the company has cancelled several services on Thursday and Friday.

Southeastern rail faced disruption to many of its services throughout the day, although it is hoping to run a normal service on Thursday.

Only nine schools in the county were reported as being closed for the day.

Motorists are being advised by police to prepare for difficult conditions on the roads on Thursday morning. Rain is expected to fall overnight and to freeze, leading to a risk of ice.
