Woman charged with murder after Kent man dies in crash

A 50-year-old woman has been charged with murdering a father of five who died from multiple injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Kent.

Charity Treeby of Queen Street, Paddock Wood, appeared before Maidstone magistrates charged with killing Jack Treeby, 43, of Rainham, Kent.

Kent Police said she was related by marriage to Mr Treeby, who died after the incident in Maidstone on Sunday.

A third man, aged 49, has been arrested on suspicion of murder, police said.

Two men, aged 22 and 29, arrested on Wednesday remain in police custody.

Police were called to the scene in Quarry Road just before 1900 GMT, following reports that two men had been seriously injured in a collision.

A second man remains in a stable condition in hospital with a bullet wound.

A third man, who suffered minor injuries after being hit by a vehicle, was treated at the scene.

Ms Treeby was remanded in custody until 18 January.
