Seven arrested over fly-tipping

Six men and a teenager were arrested after a large amount of rubbish was dumped in Gillingham.

Kent Police said the suspects, aged between 17 and 48, were held on suspicion of fly-tipping after an incident in Ash Tree Lane.

The men and teenager, from Rochester and Chatham, were released on bail until 13 January.

Sgt Tony Dyer said: "Fly-tipping can be very dangerous and affects people's quality of life."

He added: "Working alongside our partners [Medway Council environmental health officers] we are keen to prevent people from Fly-tipping across Medway and if caught then they will face prosecution."
