'Unexplained' death boy is named

Edward Barry
Edward Barry was described as "a very much loved brother and son"

A 14-year-old boy found dead in Kent has been named as a year nine pupil at Gravesend Grammar School for Boys.

Officers were called to a property in Parrock Street, Gravesend, on Friday morning following Edward Barry's death.

A Kent Police spokeswoman said the tests carried out on Saturday found the cause of death inconclusive.

They are treating the death as unexplained until a toxicology report is released. An inquest into the death is due to be opened this week.

Patrick and Justine Barry, the parents of Edward, who was known to his family and friends as Ed, said he was "a very much loved brother and son".

Gravesend Grammar School described him as an intelligent and mature youngster who loved skateboarding and music.
