Two puppies found dumped in box

Two six-week-old puppies found dumped in a cardboard box in a field in Kent are to be found new homes, the RSPCA has said.

The animals were found by a dog walker near Warmlake Road in Chart Sutton, near Maidstone, on 3 November.

They are a wire-haired and smooth-coated Jack Russell terrier-type cross breed.

The female dogs had overgrown nails and fur loss. They were treated by a vet and taken to Patcham's RSPCA centre.

RSPCA Inspector Teresa Potter said: "These puppies were found in a poor condition and had simply been left to survive on their own, which they would never have been able to."

She added: "We would like to hear from anyone who knows who dumped them."

A spokesperson for the charity said the puppies would stay at the centre until they were found new homes.
